The plan can deal with a range of development issues and can propose local projects. These could include:
what gives Stinsford its particular character, and how to safeguard this
housing, including its design, and provision of affordable housing
green spaces that people value in the parish
traffic issues, including cycling routes and traffic black spots
social and community facilities, what do we have, what more is needed
What area does the Stinsford Neighbourhood Plan cover?
The plan will cover the whole parish of Stinsford, including the hamlets of Higher and Lower Bockhampton, Higher Kingston, Kingston Maurward park and the fields and water-meadows to the north of Dorchester, up to the Waterston ridge.

Work on the plan started with a public meeting in March 2018. Neighbourhood Plans usually take 2-4 years to complete. Stinsford Neighbourhood Plan Group aims to prepare the plan for submission to Dorset Council in the Spring of 2022. A process of having the plan formally examined by an Inspector will follow, which can take a year.
On 6th August 2020 the government published a White Paper "Planning for the Future" with an accompanying press release. Their proposals for changing the planning system are open for consultation until 29th October.
We are not sure yet how this may affect neighbourhood planning. We will update this page when we know more.
